For the next 20 days, we’ll take a look at 20 drivers who we expect to break out in the 2020 racing season. Check out all of our 20 in ’20 posts right here!

WHO: NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle rider, Vance & Hines Harley Davidson

2019 RESULTS: 7th, 2381 points

WHY SHE’S ON THE LIST: A three-time Pro Stock Motorcycle champion, Sampey’s 2019 season started with her under contract for just four races with Vance & Hines, her former bitter rivals in the class, as a third rider alongside Andrew Hines and Eddie Krawiec. By March, however, she’d been upgraded to a full season ride, and paid it off with a seventh place finish in points; that led to her re-signing with the team for another run in 2020.

Sampey didn’t add to her 42 career wins or 73 career final rounds in 2019, but she did take her 50th career low qualifier award at the US Nationals in Indianapolis. After a year of getting acclimated to her new bike, it’ll be no surprise if she manages to up all three of those numbers in 2020. Hines himself had a similar swing over the past two seasons, going from winless in 2018 to taking another title earlier this year, so she’s clearly got the right team behind her to make those moves.
