For the next 20 days, we’ll take a look at 20 drivers who we expect to break out in the 2020 racing season. Check out all of our 20 in ’20 posts right here!

WHO: Supercross/Pro Motocross rider #6, GEICO Honda

2019 RESULTS: 8th, Monster Energy Cup, 26 points (6-6-14)
4th, Paris Supercross, 29 points (4-3-14-1-3-4)

WHY HE’S ON THE LIST: From June 2018 to October 2019, Martin sat on the sidelines rehabbing a major back injury, but the Minnesota native was healthy enough to make a surprise appearance at the Monster Energy Cup. His 6-6-14 performance ranked him eighth at that event, and preceded a fourth place overall at Paris Supercross that included one main event win and killer reflexes coming out of the gate all weekend long.

Martin’s spot at GEICO Honda is secure through 2021 even with last year lost to injury, and with so much time off the bike, he’s sure to be determined to reassert himself at the front of the 250 field. He’s expected to return to the East division once again, where he finished third in 2018, before looking to return to his championship outdoor form from 2014 and 2015. As long as he can stay healthy, he should be a safe bet for plenty of wins and podiums throughout the year.
