WHO: Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series JR2 Kart driver #497

2019 RESULTS: 4th, LOORRS JR2 Kart, 296 points; 7 starts, 1 win, 2 podiums
1st, Lucas Oil Regional (Arizona) RZR 570, 259 points; 5 starts, 4 wins, 4 podiums
2nd, Lucas Oil Regional (So Cal) RZR 570, 353 points; 8 starts, 2 wins, 5 podiums
3rd, Lucas Oil Regional (So Cal) JR2 Kart, 315 points; 8 starts, 1 win, 3 podiums
4th, Lucas Oil Regional (Arizona) JR2 Kart, 207 points; 5 starts, 2 podiums

WHY SHE’S ON THE LIST: One of a number of talented young JR2 Kart drivers in last year’s Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, Owens led the championship late in the season before settling into fourth in the closely fought final standings. When all was said and done, she ran 20 races on the national and regional levels in 2019 in the class, with a national victory at Wild West Motorsports Park one of two checkered flags she took on the season.

But Owens’ results were even better in her Polaris RZR 570 events. She came within 18 points of sweeping both Lucas Oil Regional championships, scoring six wins and nine podiums in 13 starts across the two classes, and her title in Arizona was her second in a row. She also made appearances in both the Crandon Off-Road World Championship and desert racing, among other events. Whichever class, or classes, Owens focuses on in 2020 will be getting a driver ready to battle for the title.
