The largest purse in side-by-side racing history is up for grabs in 2019, as SXS Sports’ Monster Energy Chasing the Triple Series brings UTV competition to three completely different settings. This weekend sees the first of three rounds, as racers will take on the ice-based Twin Bridge Takedown in the first leg of the championship.
Hosted on the High Falls Flowage just outside of Crivitz, Wisconsin, the Twin Bridge Takedown joins May’s short course race at U.S. Air Motorsports Raceway and October’s cross-country round at TexPlex Park. Four different classes will compete: the premier Pro Mod class, Pro Stock, Sportsman, and the SXS Mini class for young drivers.
The new series grew from last year’s Spring Nationals at U.S. Air, which saw Supercross legend Ricky Carmichael make his side-by-side racing debut alongside the sport’s top regulars like CJ Greaves and Kyle Chaney. With both Johnny and CJ Greaves among the organizing crew, the new championship has plenty of muscle behind it.
Drivers expected to compete this weekend include Chaney, Zac Zakowski, and Kyle Olson, among others. In last year’s race at U.S. Air, Chaney swept both Pro Mod rounds in the two-day event. Unlike the Spring Nationals, the Twin Bridge Takedown will feature one day of competition, with 15-minute heat races on Saturday morning before the main events in the afternoon.
Each race of the Monster Energy Chasing the Triple Series Twin Bridge Takedown will be streamed live on sxssports.livemotorsports.com and on Facebook on Saturday.
