Professional off-road racer and General Tire Down & Dirty Show Powered By Polaris RZR host Jim Beaver earned a strong finish in Friday’s Mint 400, the second event of his 2020 race program. Debuting his new General Tire primary sponsorship on the #915 Polaris RZR in the UTV Pro Turbo class, Beaver teamed up with his brother Trent and co-driver Bryant Shontz to earn 16th place overall in the Great American Off-Road Race.
UTV racing for this year’s event was moved to Friday, making UTV Pro Turbo the fastest class in four laps and 428 miles of competition on the first day of racing. As always, a rough course challenged drivers to be at their best, and less than half of the field was able to finish all four laps of the race. Aside from a handful of odds and ends that came up over the course of the event, the #915 team encountered no major issues over the course of the event to post a four-lap finishing time of 10:29:49.891, with Jim Beaver running the first two laps and Trent Beaver finishing the final two.
“The Mint 400 was always the race that got away from us, so it was incredibly satisfying to get the finish this year,” said Jim Beaver. “I can’t think of a better way for us to debut our new General Tire Polaris RZR than by conquering one of the toughest events in the sport, and it was a great way to build on the momentum of our finish in Parker. Thanks to the whole team for taking care of us in the pits, all of our sponsors, and all of the fans who supported us and came to see us throughout the weekend.”
In addition to his performance in the car, this year’s Mint 400 was a major media event for Beaver. Thursday saw him sign autographs in the Vision Wheel booth before stopping by the Polaris RZR booth to record a new episode of the General Tire Down & Dirty Show Powered By Polaris RZR. Then, on Saturday, he joined the booth for the official Mint 400 livestream, calling a dramatic battle that ended with Luke McMillin taking the overall victory.
