Jim Beaver eSports Carries Momentum From Debut Race Into Pocono

Guariglia, Smith look to conquer Tricky Triangle; watch Tuesday at 9PM ET

PARKER, AZ (July 23, 2019) — Coming off a successful debut eNASCAR PEAK Antifreeze iRacing Series event at Kentucky Speedway, Jim Beaver eSports will return to action this Tuesday night for its second-ever race at Pocono Raceway. Drivers Michael Guariglia and Eric J. Smith will get back behind the wheel of their Down & Dirty Show Powered By Polaris RZR/GoPro Motorplex Ford Mustangs in search of strong finishes from the Tricky Triangle.

Guariglia made a strong impression in his first race under the Jim Beaver eSports banner, qualifying eighth and getting past incoming series points leader Ryan Luza before a caution during green flag pit stops jumbled up the field. The West Palm Beach, FL native will hope to make good on that promise with the #15 Ford Mustang with his second top-10 finish of the season at Pocono.

“For Pocono, I think the car is pretty decent,” said Guariglia. “I just need to find speed as a driver; there is some time here and there that I need to find. Qualifying is going to be super important to stay ahead of the dirty air and maintain track position. The most important thing for Pocono is drive off. Without that, you lose so much time compared to others. So, being snug off is going to be important while being able to have a free entry to the corner.”

Smith sent a message to the series establishment by becoming the first rookie winner of 2019 with his triumph at Auto Club Speedway earlier this season. Though Pocono’s unique layout poses a different challenge, Smith will be looking to build upon his proven speed on the series’ longer tracks and return the #51 Ford Mustang to the front of the pack on Tuesday.

“Pocono is a track with long straightaways and differently banked corners,” said Smith. “The tricky part of the Tricky Triangle is getting the car to perform really well through all three turns because they’re so different.”

“I couldn’t be happier with how the Jim Beaver eSports team launch went earlier this month, or with how Michael and Eric have carried themselves since joining the team,” said team owner and Down & Dirty Show Powered By Polaris RZR host Jim Beaver. “We made some serious waves with our debut in Kentucky, and we couldn’t have picked two better drivers than Michael and Eric to represent our organization as we move forward. I’m looking forward to seeing the Down & Dirty Show Powered By Polaris RZR/GoPro Motorplex Ford Mustangs at the front of the pack again in Pocono!”

Be sure to tune in to watch Jim Beaver eSports drivers Michael Guariglia and Eric J. Smith compete in eNASCAR PEAK Antifreeze iRacing Series action from Pocono Raceway. The live stream will begin at 9PM ET/6PM PT and can be seen on the iRacing eSports Network on Facebook, Twitch, and YouTube, as well as Jim Beaver’s Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/JimBeaver15) and the Down & Dirty Show Powered By Polaris RZR website (www.downanddirtyshow.com).
