Motorsports Drop Joins CDRA SuperTruck Series as Title Partner

Season to kick off August 3 at Homestead

The Motorsports Drop, a twice-weekly podcast providing news and results from the world of action motorsports, will serve as the title sponsor for the inaugural Championship Development Racing Association (CDRA) SuperTruck Series season. A devoted driver development series for Championship Online Racing Teams (CORT) competition on iRacing, the season kicks off on August 3 with a debut round at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“We’re very excited to welcome Motorsports Drop as the title sponsor of the CDRA SuperTruck Series,” said CDRA owner David Damboise. “Motorsports Drop is all about getting information fast, and we are all about emulating going fast, so it was a perfect fit. We are already counting down the days till our season opener for the CDRA Motorsports Drop SuperTruck Series on Monday, August 3rd at Homestead-Miami Speedway.”

“Supporting sim racing of all types is hugely important to me, and I’m excited to partner up with CDRA for the inaugural CDRA Motorsports Drop SuperTruck Series season,” said Chris Leone, Motorsports Drop host. “When I saw who was racing and how quickly the entry list filled up, teaming up was a no-brainer. For the rest of the year, your Mondays are set—listen to the latest Motorsports Drop in the morning, and pull for your favorite CDRA drivers at night. Bring on Homestead!”

Matt Everhart will race the #43 Motorsports Drop Ford for Jim Beaver eSports in selected CDRA Motorsports Drop SuperTruck Series events.

CDRA was established in the summer of 2020 to provide a new means for drivers to progress into CORT competition. Much like real-world NASCAR competition, CORT’s top drivers are limited to just a handful of series starts and cannot run the season finale, allowing CDRA’s 62 points-earning drivers to fight out the championship among themselves. The 15-race championship features a mix of superspeedways, short tracks, and road courses designed to put driver development first.

The Championship Online Racing Teams was established in 2012 with one goal in mind: to have the best, most enjoyable iRacing league, while also maintaining a fair competitive balance. As CORT enters its 17th season, the series remains true to its values. CORT’s three nights of racing, with the CORT affiliated CDRA Motorsports Drop SuperTruck Series on Monday nights, the CORT MH Designs Series on Tuesday, and the CORT National Cup Series on Wednesday nights, have established CORT as your home of racing to kick off your week. For more information on CORT and CDRA, visit www.cortracing.com, and be sure to follow the CDRA Motorsports Drop SuperTruck Series on Twitter at @CDRATrucks.

Launched in the winter of 2020, new Motorsports Drop episodes are released on Mondays and Fridays, with additional special episodes released intermittently throughout the year. Each three-minute podcast covers the biggest stories in racing, including Formula 1, IndyCar, NASCAR, NHRA, off-road, short course, sim racing, and more.
