General Tire is the proud Official Racing Tire and Exclusive Tire Supplier of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, NASCAR Pinty’s Series, NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, and NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series, as well as the longtime supplier of tires for the ARCA Menards Series. Throughout the 2019 racing season, we’ll check in on the stock car series that feature General Tire worldwide, with race notes, previews, and driver profiles:

Last Week

The NASCAR Pinty’s Series made its annual stop at the Grand Prix Trois-Rivieres for Les 50 tours Hotel le Concorde. The 50th anniversary of GP3R also marked the 50th anniversary of racing for the Dumoulin family, which made it fitting that they dominated the race and the headlines on Sunday.

Family patriarch Richard Dumoulin paced the field in the same car he used in the inaugural GP3R, while son LP Dumoulin took the checkered flag for the second time this season and his brother JF finished third. It marked the first time that both drivers made it to the podium in a Pinty’s Series race.

This weekend’s NASCAR Home Tracks action kicks off on Thursday as the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East visits Bristol Motor Speedway for the Bush’s Beans 150. Sam Mayer won from the pole at Bristol earlier this year, as the track holds two races for the series for the first time. Two days later, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West returns to Evergreen Speedway for the NAPA Auto Parts 150, won by Derek Thorn last year.

The NASCAR Pinty’s Series takes on its second event in three weeks with Saturday’s Bumper to Bumper 300 at Riverside International Raceway in Nova Scotia, where LP Dumoulin is the defending winner and Chandler Smith will make his series debut. And the ARCA Menards Series caps off the weekend on Sunday with a visit to the Illinois State Fairgrounds and the Allen Crowe 100, as Christian Eckes looks to defend his victory in the first of two dirt races this season.

Driver Profile: Riley Herbst

He may be off-road racing royalty as a member of the Herbst family, but Riley Herbst has focused on making his name in stock cars. The Las Vegas native has run in just about every major NASCAR series but the Cup level in 2019, including multiple starts in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and Gander Outdoors Truck Series, but still maintains a sizable NASCAR Home Tracks program with Joe Gibbs Racing and DGR-Crosley Racing.

After running two full ARCA Menards Series seasons in 2017 and 2018, including a win at Elko Speedway as a rookie, Herbst has four top-10s in six starts this year while splitting time with Ty Gibbs. He’s also run three NASCAR K&N Pro Series East races with a best finish of sixth at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, and he even made his debut north of the border with the NASCAR Pinty’s Series at their season opener at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park while driving for DJ Kennington.
