General Tire is the proud Official Racing Tire and Exclusive Tire Supplier of the ARCA Menards Series, NASCAR Pinty’s Series, NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, and NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series. Throughout the 2020 racing season, we’ll check in on the stock car series that feature General Tire worldwide, with race notes, previews, and driver profiles.

ARCA Menards Series Recap: Kansas

It’s been a long time coming, but Bret Holmes can finally call himself an ARCA Menards Series winner after taking the checkered flag in Friday’s Dawn 150 from Kansas Speedway. Last year’s third place points finisher earned the long-awaited victory in his 69th career start, dominating the 100-lap race and winning by almost 15 seconds over Venturini Motorsports’ Ryan Repko with his family-run team. Holmes’ 82 laps led nearly tripled his incoming career count of 42, and he cut the championship deficit to leader Michael Self down to just nine points.

Holmes’ victory made him the fifth different winner of the season, joining Self, Chandler Smith, Drew Dollar, and Ty Gibbs. He took the lead from polesitter Riley Herbst on Lap 19 and never looked back; Herbst would come home third, with Corey Heim and Tanner Gray completing the top five.

ARCA Menards Series Preview: Toledo

Can’t get enough ARCA Menards Series action? You’re in luck! This weekend’s visit to ARCA’s home track, Toledo Speedway, will include not one, but two races on back-to-back days. It’ll also mark the first time since 2011 that the half-mile paved oval has hosted two races in the primary ARCA championship, and the third ARCA race overall at Toledo this year after the East division visited the track in mid-June.

Ty Gibbs won that East race, and he’ll be looking for the Toledo hat trick this weekend as he returns to the cockpit for Joe Gibbs Racing, but last year’s race winner Chandler Smith and Venturini Motorsports might have something to say about that as well. The duo have combined to win five of the eight main ARCA series races thus far this year, and are the only multi-race winners of the season so far. Drivers still looking for their breakthrough first victories of the season include Hailie Deegan and Thad Moffitt, who sit fourth and fifth in points for DGR-Crosley Racing, and Sam Mayer, who returns to action with GMS Racing for the doubleheader.
