General Tire is the proud Official Racing Tire and Exclusive Tire Supplier of the ARCA Menards Series, NASCAR Pinty’s Series, NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, and NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series. Throughout the 2020 racing season, we’ll check in on the stock car series that feature General Tire worldwide, with race notes, previews, and driver profiles.

ARCA Menards Series East Recap: Toledo

The drivers and teams of the ARCA Menards Series finally returned to action with the Herr’s Potato Chips 200, an East division showdown at Toledo Speedway. Ty Gibbs dominated by leading 183 of the race’s 204 laps, but had to hold off a challenge from polesitter Sam Mayer in overtime to take the checkered flag. It was Gibbs’ fifth win at the ARCA level, after he scored four across the ARCA Menards Series and NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West last year.

Bret Holmes finished third, while Chase Cabre and Nick Sanchez completed the top five. Seven of the race’s 15 starters finished on the lead lap, after late-race incidents for Taylor Gray and Ryan Repko ended their lead-lap runs. The East division returns to action on July 25 at Berlin Raceway.

ARCA Menards Series Preview: General Tire 200 at Talladega

Saturday’s General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway will be the third race of the main ARCA Menards Series season, and the first since the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted the championship after March’s General Tire 150 at Phoenix Raceway. 21 drivers will line up to take the green flag on Saturday at 2PM ET, kicking off a busy stretch of racing over the next month.

Venturini Motorsports’ Michael Self holds a 12-point lead over DGR-Crosley’s Hailie Deegan thanks to finishes of first and second in the first two races of the season. Self will team up with Drew Dollar and Ryan Repko for Saturday’s race, while Deegan and teammates Tanner Gray and Thad Moffitt will be hoping to recapture the speed that Todd Gilliland had on the way to giving the team last year’s Talladega win. Also on the entry list is Gus Dean, who scored his first career ARCA win here in 2016.
