PARKER, ARIZONA (October 1, 2019) –– Professional off-road racer and host of the Down & Dirty Show Powered By Polaris RZR, Jim Beaver, has officially acquired Reignition Esport, a top eSports team competing in multiple iRacing World Championships. The team will be rebranded Jim Beaver eSports to match Beaver’s eNASCAR PEAK Antifreeze iRacing Series team, and will retain all of its existing drivers through the 2020 season.
“Today is a huge day for Jim Beaver eSports as we welcome the Reignition Esport competitors to our team,” said Jim Beaver. “I’m stoked to add a full-fledged eSports team to our efforts in eNASCAR with iRacing, and I can’t wait for our drivers to go for multiple world championships across all disciplines in the coming years. We’ve got big plans for our team that we can’t wait to reveal!”
Jim Beaver eSports made its debut this summer as the newest team in the eNASCAR PEAK Antifreeze iRacing Series, drafting in competitive rookie drivers Michael Guariglia and Eric J. Smith in its #15 and #51 Down & Dirty Show/GoPro Motorplex Ford Mustangs. The team made its national television debut on NBCSN’s NASCAR America in July with an all-star event at Iowa Speedway, and will wrap up its season on October 10 with the PEAK Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Formed by Bobby Sandt Jr., Reignition Esport has qualified drivers for multiple iRacing World Championships, including the currently-running iRacing USAC World Championship presented by FloRacing and the Thrustmaster iRacing Rallycross (iRX) World Championship that kicks off later this week. As part of the acquisition, Sandt’s 410 Non-Winged Sprint Car will switch to Jim Beaver eSports branding beginning with this week’s race at Eldora Speedway.
In addition to announcing the acquisition of the team, Jim Beaver eSports is also proud to announce DirtFish as the primary sponsor of its two entries in the 2019 iRX season. Sandt and Connor Parise will campaign a pair of DirtFish-backed Subaru WRX STIs in the nine-race calendar, which kicks off this weekend with the series’ inaugural visit to Atlanta Motor Speedway.
“DirtFish has been a longtime sponsor of mine, and as a DirtFish-helmeted athlete, I’m excited to introduce them to iRX as the primary sponsor of our two entries,” added Beaver. “Bobby and Connor will do a great job representing our team in this year’s championship, and we’re looking forward to running up front all season long!”
In addition to Guariglia, Smith, Sandt and Parise, former Reignition Esport drivers Dave Bodio, Matt Everhart, Jesse Isadore, Keith Jeffery, Joe Lusk, Brandyn Proudfoot, Bobby Rafferty, Hunter Stiffler, Justin Thompson, and Brian Weyandt Jr. will also join the Jim Beaver eSports team through the 2020 season. The team had a strong presence in both iRacing World of Outlaws World Championships this year, with five drivers qualifying for either the Sprint Car or Late Model series.
